GM agrees to $12.75M California settlement over sale of drivers’ data

The article notes they made $20m in revenue from the illegal sale. $12.75m fine. The article notes this fine is a record.

Definitely seems like the system is working for someone.

The fine needs to be way way way higher.

GM is also required to:

• Stop selling driving data to consumer reporting agencies and brokers for five years.

Stop doing that until everyone forgets about it and we can go back to turning a blind eye.
