"His career" was mainly unlimited holodeck access, each session of which required extensive cleanup after. Deanna never stood a chance when compared to the kinky shit Riker had running in there. Let's just say it involved trombones. Loads and loads of trombones.
So when did the take command of the Titan? I remember he was holding out for the Enterprise but that never happened except for alternate timelines (or when he got kidnapped).

Minuets wasn't the only thing he found on the holodeck.
Some say he has his own private slave ship full of Binars creating his every perfect fantasy following the Enterprise wherever it goes.

Riker's more of a freed slaves turned pirate kind of guy I think

Piracy is really more Thomas' thing, though he calls himself a "freedom fighter"

Nemesis was when he was supposed to, I believe. That was his last mission before his own command.
Coincidentally also when he married Deanna.
I dont know if that was your point or not, on reflection, but im mentioning it anyways.

Being married to a therapist is probably like being married to a nutritional scientist.
