I know this is common in many countries but the idea that you can drive your car on the beach is crazy to me. I am glad this is not a thing here.

In the US it depends on which state and local municipality. It’s so damn stupid. Damaging to the ecosystem and a real good way to just rust the fuck out of your vehicle at a rapid rate. You also hear about people getting run over while just laying or sitting on the beach which is cool too. I generally avoid beaches where it’s allowed because you have to watch out for motoring morons in their stupid jacked up trucks and SUVs. Not really an enjoyable walk.
