Under the settlement, the county, Weems and Morrow are not admitting any wrongdoing in last year’s ordeal. The county’s insurer will pay the settlement.

County taxpayers ultimately foot the bill in the form of elevated county insurance premiums, and no one is held accountable for blatant civil rights violations.

The sheriff's office and prosecutors that decided to jail him and keep him in there for however long should be paying some kind of price for this. Complete disconnect between who pays for the mistakes of the police and those in the police making the mistakes.

I mean I wonder if the sheriff's stuck his neck out during the Civil Trial here. Maybe not because they did not figure the case was neck and neck.

Anyway since the subject is up, Israel was the one actually killed Kirk by the way.

I think municipalities are pretty good for paying out, it's individuals, especially powerful individuals like the president or a million other assholes, Alex Jones those types. They can and will cheat you.
