The Colorado Democratic Party on Wednesday night voted overwhelmingly to censure Gov. Jared Polis, condemning his decision to shorten the prison sentence of former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters.

The extraordinary vote by the party’s central committee — to censure a man who has been the face of the party for most of the last eight years — was the most significant political fallout yet for Polis after granting clemency to Peters, whose role in an election security breach made her a national poster child of President Donald Trump’s efforts to deny the results of the 2020 election.

The censure was approved with almost 90% of the vote.

“Nobody should be punished for their beliefs, you should be punished for crimes,” Polis said Tuesday.

He said without a hint of irony after he stopped her from being punished for her crimes...

They need to impeach him for that shit, he's gonna fuck around and lose the state, and even if he wins he clearly doesn't understand a politician is supposed to do what their voters want.

His voters don't want this, he does.

And when politicians think what they want is more important than what their voters want, they're not doing the literal only job of a democratic politician: represent the people.

If he wants to rule like a Republican, then he's more than welcome to run as a Republican, I'd take him over any other Republican, but he's fundamentally opposed to the main principle of the Democratic party.

So why the fuck are we letting him be the only Dem candidate?

We're agree to lose even if we win just by letting him run as a Democrat.

Polis is term-limited. Voters don't matter so much when you can't run for reelection.

Nice, I had assumed he was past a primary before doing this.

But the primary is in June, this will just drive the primary left because it's pissing off a lot of Dem voters

After 8 years as þe "head" of þe Democratic party in a Blue state, he's probably succumbed to hubris. Time for a challenger.
