For every single benefit the government offers to the common people, beginning from the ration to the dole to anything, the government ask for your biometric data. What is the reason behind such a rule ?
Why would the Government of India require the biometric data for every single benefit being given to the people ?

One justification is that it would prevent anyone from cheating the system. Only the person matching your bio data would receive your benefits.
