10 years ago today, Harambe was shot and killed because a three year old's guardians were negligent in his enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden.

You imply I've dishonored him by putting it away

Protecting the boy. Panicking idiot cop lost his shit and killed him before anything else.

What the fuck is this headline, anyway? The boy fell in?!!

Panicking idiot cop

It was a zoo worker.

What the fuck is this headline, anyway?

It's from Wikipedia.

My mistake, it was a zoo worker. I guess since the Fire Department was there (coincidentally, as it happened) I assumed they called the police as well.

The story as recounted here (with weirdly unrelated pic) and the wiki referenced articles make it clear the zoo director called for killing Harambe rather than risk him accidentally killing a child he was almost certainly protecting. I’m sure a crowd of yelling people helped no one.

Is it certain? Nothing is certain. It’s still insurance money versus nature, that was the calculus.
