Mushroom roots are connected to each other, (fungi are the largest living organism on earth btw, see Armillaria mushrooms, covering 8.8km²) so this meme does not really make sense. Sorry, I dont want to be that guy, but...
Just one more thing, I know what you are trying to say with this: Please just take a look at how democratic centralism works. Even if you are against it, just learn about it, there is nothing bad about learning theory.

Mycelium has also been found to be a pathway by which trees communicate with each other. So in that context, the meme does make sense.
