What is the group stage? I know nothing about football (soccer), other that a yellow card means your in trouble and a red one means your out, oh and I guess you can't touch the ball with hour hands. Actually I don't know much about any sport ball.

There are two stages in the world cups: the group and the elimination stage. In the group stage, the teams are divided up into smaller groups of four teams, and they all play each other in a round robin format. The two best teams from each group then advance to the elimination stage, where two teams play each other in multiple rounds with the winner advancing to the next round.
