In Battlezone 98 you were able to do the same - i loved the RTS/FPS/Mech mashup, and sniping my pals out of their hard worked for vehicles so that i could take them over was glorious lol

I miss starhawk and the transforming mechs, spawning the grizzly exosuit/mech thing and dropping it in someone (fell in a droppid from the sky) was so fun, helldivers 2 is the closest to the feeling of playing that game but none of that verticality (jetpacks, mechs that transform into jets, etc.)
