Gregg is resting now... within an hour of hatching plover chicks are walking. Plover chicks have to walk because they must feed themselves. Dad is responsible for most post hatch care and watches over the chicks as they forage. Plovers feed on small invertebrates that inhabit wrack washed up on the beach.
i have learned something about the birds on the other coast from me by merit of a stupid joke naming a bird. the internet is amazing if you can avoid the slapfights
