The way some US citizens engage with their government really reminds me of the good tsar, bad boyar phenomenon common in Russia.
Trump/the tsar couldn't be doing the thing that's hurting me, he just doesn't know about the situation! If only the state governor/boyar wasn't so horrible, corrupt and hiding the situation from the federal government, then Trump/the tsar would obviously step in and fix the issue.
Russians and Americans have a whole lot more in common than they realize. (As do all people, cuz we're all people don't ya know.)
I was watching a YouTube video of a Russian guy exploring the Kaliningrad exclave, and I was struck by all the yokels with Zs painted on their boats and cars and how it's exactly like MAGAts in America.
You know what we do build? Wind turbines, solar (yes, really, massive plants just went up and online), and new mega battery manufacturing plants (30 plus currently). Sodium ion batteries are now being produced and are so good that traditional battery manufacturing is at 50%, they don’t lose capacity at extreme cold temps, they don’t catch on fire in wrecks, they will outlive their owners, they scale up to home and industrial size use cases, they cost less than half traditional batteries. So maybe we fucking focus on transitioning as much as we can to electric for gods sake.

Same phenomenon as "if only the Führer knew" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/If_the_F%C3%BChrer_knew?wprov=sfla1)
