Poor bob. Marooned on an island with a practical joker.

There could be a whole collection of just his desert island stuff.

You think being stuck on a deserted island might be one of Larson's fears?

The_Picard_Maneuver@startrek.website · 13 pts · 2y

Well that and being watched by a duck.

If you were stuck on a desert island, which Far Side collection would you bring?

The_Picard_Maneuver@startrek.website · 4 pts · 2y (1 reply)

I thought about how to answer this seriously, but I guess my mind never distinguished any one of the collections from another. I'd always just pick one up at random and start flipping through it.

synae@lemmy.sdf.org · 3 pts · 2y

Yea I meant it only as a joke, but I couldn't think of any particular collection either. Unlike Calvin & Hobbes for example, which had great collections like Scientific Progress Goes Boink and Attack of the (something something something) Snow Goons

This ship. It's EVERYWHERE!

e-ratic@kbin.social · 7 pts · 2y (2 replies)

Is there an RSS feed available for these? I can use kbin's RSS but it just links to these posts which isn't ideal

LynneOfFlowers@midwest.social · 2 pts · 2y (1 reply)

I found an auto-generated feed someone made here https://dyn.tedder.me/rss/farside/daily.xml that I use. I don't remember how I found it.

Thank you! This is perfect

Can someone explain? Maybe I'm too tired but I don't get it

eeltech@lemmy.world · 24 pts · 2y

There's no ship, but when Bob puts on his glasses he will see the fake ship drawn on them. It's a prank, I guess🤷

Stalinwolf@lemmy.ca · 9 pts · 2y

I struggled initially too. I thought the ship was reflecting in his glasses and was trying to figure out why he was preparing to kill him with a scalpel.

Anamnesis@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 2y (1 reply)

This wouldn't work very well because the ship would be way too close to his eyes for him to be able to focus on it. It'd just be a blurry mess.

Who are you to decide how cartoon physics and biology work?
