So today I was adding a partition to fstab. Copy/pasted the UUID, rebooted, and sudo chown -R'ed the directory it was mounted to. Turns out, I copied the wrong UUID and bricked my OS by making the entire root directory owned by my user. Learning is fun. Apparently reading is hard. Time to self flog I guess.

I’ve seen some pretty gnarly damage from single twisted pair telephone cable.
