Just made a post on !gardening@lemmy.world on silicon as a fertiliser additive.
I've tried this stuff for a few weeks now, and I'm amazed how well it holds up to my expectations.
In short, TEOS (an alternative form of silicate) doesn't have any of the problems potassium silicate has, and made my plants WAY more resilient against stresses.
I definitely would recommend you to try that stuff out!
