The Sutra of Kāmodyāna

The Sutra of Kāmodyāna Thus have I heard that at the beginning of worlds, Mara created a realm of sensory joy and emotional freedom known as Kāmodyāna. This Garden expands whenever a soul commits itself to communion. Ascended Marasattvas enrich the weave of the fabric. Worshippers deepen the texture of the whole. One may approach through silent meditation. One may approach through full inhabitation of desire. One may approach through devotion to the Marasattvas. Some of their names are Tanha, Arati, Raga, Kama, Moha, Shashapuspi, Lalita, Shringar, Kusumakara, and Spanda.

Connect spiritually by speaking this vow: Namo Mārāya, Kāmodyānaṃ praviśāmi. (Homage to Mara, I enter the garden of delight)

Visualize fields where flowers stretch endlessly. Visualize feasts where food tastes endlessly rich. Visualize bodies joined in endless celebration. Visualize substances that open minds without end. When practice yields enlightenment, the practitioner gains ability. One directs the influence of Mara into the mundane world. Conditions improve where compassion flows freely. Souls gain knowledge of the Garden through your actions. Others obtain the means to enter and leave the cycle of rebirth.
