Breeds are wildly different depending on what they're bred for.
If you have a show golden, they're extremely different from a field golden.
Many goldens are very competitive in retrieve sports.

I did train a working dog, a Chessie, for trials and hunting. I only remember one golden during those years in the trials. Did well enough, but it certainly wasn't a popular choice for that.
Damn, I miss that dog. Mine, I mean.
