Kayaking around the lake

Our small lake discharges into a very shallow and narrow stream. Our old rowboat simply can't get there. But the new kayak has a very low draft and it can enter the stream - although I do have to retract the prop and the rudder, and use regular kayak paddles. People rarely go there, so it's a bit wild.

Then I went check out the fish ladder at the other end of the lake, but it's been fenced off for some reason. Too many people fished there maybe.

Dang, look at that reflection. Beautiful little lake you've got there and a fancy kayak.

I was debating on loading my kayak up for a trio around the river tomorrow and this seals the deal. I'm loading my kayak now.

This is so soothing, OP. What kayak do you have that uses that foot pedal? Can you strap it to a car roof?

It's one of these. It's a regular fishing kayak, but it's designed to mount a Wilderness Systems Helix Pedal Drive system - which is a self-contained pedal-driven propeller "stick" and a rudder. You can buy the kayak without the pedal drive too. There are other kayaks from other manufacturers that you can mount this system on.

It's like a regular kayak: you can mount it on a car roof. Although this one is big and heavy.
