I want to see them banning assault gun bans, because then, what is it to stop me from getting a tank, and high grade explosives? Aren’t bio weapons, just guns?
They both fire the same size bullet just as fast, with the same magazine capacities.
But ones wooden and doesn't look scary so its not an assault rifle.
As someone who's had a family member eat their own glock, and another point a handgun at me:
Can we fucking focus on something that matters to most gun violence victims, like red-flag laws and mental health awareness so people like them don't shoot themselves because they're so fucking afraid of therapy/being openly emotional they'd rather fucking kill themselves. Or so others with no sense of reality or emotional control can't access them.
Like assault rifle bans are a waste of political clout for those who actually want to curb gun violence, full stop.
Wanna really fix it? Give us free medical care, UBI, and end the war on drugs. That should give people enough reasons go not fucking shoot eachother.
If mass-shootings are still an issue after killing the societal woe that drives so many to violence, put a moratorium on all gun-related credit card purchases for dudes under 30.
Most school shooters are dudes under 30 buying arsenals on credit card debt they know they won't have to pay off.
I can hear it now:
"This isn't an easy instant solution"
It was never going to be, and fuck everyone for acting like we can just put a band-aid on major, inter-connected societal issues.
Here's hoping for a leftest democratic sweep this November.
