I once had a roommate who was the messiest person alive. I was tired of cleaning up all his crap so I just piled it all in front of his door. When I came home, he had just parted it like the Red Sea and it sat there for weeks.

Usually if it's on the bed (for me at least) it's clean. I put it on the bed so I don't just rewear it out of the laundry basket
