Scanned from my copy of the book Socha Sculptures Skulpturen, which presents the works of the German artist Socha Svender, most famous for her mid-century expressionist wood carvings of "Equatorial figures," the majority of them produced following the Svender couple's move to the U.S. Virgin Islands (St. Croix) in the mid-1960s.

I love this book and it has a permanent place on my coffee table. It was originally printed in 1984 in West Germany. The binding is coming apart. Even trying to be as careful as possible, I still damaged it a lot in scanning these images.
