Whenever i see ads on any screen ( mostly when visiting friends or family ) i take a minute to let sink in how horrible it is to have ads disrupting everything.
The volume scares me the most, it destroys any mood you might have been in.
It's kind of weird, but I do kind of miss ads on television.
By that I mean the kind of ads that aren't specifically targeted, by Big Algorithm, at my last 5 minutes of doomscrolling.
Every now and then I watch the local news on the local broadcast stations, and it's interesting to watch the various ads that I used to be able to chat about with co-workers and real-life friends as common cultural references.

That’s funny, out here on the high seas, I forget what it must be like to use a streaming service nowadays.

We travel the high seas but will occasionally watch Plex Live TV. Oh the commercials are so horrible...

There is an era of ads that I miss. But I’m talking about when Full House and Family Matters were on their first runs

Local business ads were the best!
Yes, they were!
