If Google follows thru on allowing installs after a single 24hr waiting period, I'm afraid we'll never be taken seriously again as this will be seen as a major overreaction. Then Google will take advantage of that to really tighten the screws.
"Hey bro can you get my phone to stop displaying an ad every 3 to 5 seconds.. It's driving me crazy.. also can you check if I'm hacked.. my phone be making notification sounds?"
well, I can't tell them to come back after 24h so i can finish the job, that would be weird.. they'll probably think idk what I'm doing and probably never come back..

It's all to protect YOU, the dear valued customer. So you will not be harmed by all those evil "indie dev-apps and this opensource-shit that will ruin and kill your precious device.
Sigh...fuck you google, just fuck you. You became the brain-cancer of the internet.
But they will get away with it with zero problems, as 99,99999% of all users probably don't care or don't know, and just accept it.
And next year the 24h-"workaround" is also removed, due to security a reasons because it was heavily "exploited".
