I thought I'd sown too late, but it's turned out beautifully! (Not OC)

OPs Description: Got rid of all the weeds, brambles, goose grass and so on late last year. I rotavated and raked, and picked out so many pebbles and old crocks. Then life got busy and I kept putting back the time I could sow the wildflower seeds I'd got. I sowed in May! Today the little meadow is in almost full bloom, and covered in bees and butterflies. I'm in love with this bit of the garden again :-)

So beautiful, but as an Australian seeing long grass like that makes me nervous

Fair enough, but your comment also made me think of this

I guess the same rules apply in parts of Australia

Where is this and what kind of flowers are they?

Here is the relevant comment from the other post

I'm in the UK, west mids to be specific. The pictures are of part of my back garden. I have about a 1/2 acre, which is quite large for a normal garden in the UK. The garden has three sections, and this is the "meadow". The photos show native wildflowers like poppies, cornflower and campion.
