Is it a dream vacation for two to Tahiti?

Half eaten used Tampon is a statistical favorite.

My sister's dog honked up a whole one, to everyone's horror.

A tongue. Loophole!

My dog wolfed (pun intended) down half a 6" sub. We took her to the vet because onions, and they came up front cackling because she hurked up an entire tomato slice. No chewing. Just vacuum.

Dog tax!

One of my dogs ate an entire steak a while ago, wrapper and all. He passed it through no problem but I know the feeling.

  • Small piece of glass
  • Small shard of clay pot
  • A piece of brick
  • Looong piece of string, 90% swallowed
  • A hardware bolt
  • Waffle house scraps from trash
  • Entire fast food burger
  • Entire bar of 80% dark chocolate (the only one that required a vet immediately)
  • Sometimes his own face hair, still attached... just nomming it a bit

...just off the top of my head from my own experience, you just never know

crazy how different these lists can be. mine is more like:

  • rabbit poop

  • their own poop from an hour ago

  • my flowers (leaves or buds) that I've been working very hard to grow

  • window blinds

  • a dead bird of unknown origin

  • string lights

  • nothing, just smacking their lips

  • a bug

  • a fly

  • a piece of dog hair fluff, unclear if it's just attached and they can't get it off or if they mean to chew on it

MrShankles@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 49d

Lol, the "just smacking their lips" always killed me. Like they were just fucking with me for funsies

Candy bar wrapper from the counter top after the owner forgot to put it in the garbage. Forbidden chocolate flavour with very little danger of poisoning.

Which is not to say the dog knows this. It would have had the candy bar too given half a chance.

Funny story. My 10mo puppy finds EVERYTHING somehow. I don't even know where the shit comes from most of the time. I lost the cap to my diet Pepsi bottle and I was like "damn I wanted to put it back in the fridge for later" my wife said don't worry Dex will fins it. Sure as hell 5 minutes later he's walking around with it. No idea where he even got it.

I've got a great dog. I say, "Whatchou got?" and she immediately drops whatever it is.

My younger dog is getting there.

The trick is training them by usually giving the thing back or giving them a rewarding treat in its place, and always praising.

Cute comic, though.

I do this with my sub when I get off work. she never fails to amaze me how long she can keep the plug in her throat.

owning pets is a special reward in itself.

A full poo bag

Was on a walk with my dog one time and I noticed that they were having trouble with something in their mouth. It seemed to be stuck to the roof of their mouth and they weren't able to get it free. So I had to stick my hand in there (on a walk so nothing to cover my hand) and pluck it out having no idea what it could be. Turned out to be a bagel. My dog has been addicted to carbs ever since and I'll give her a few bites of pizza crust now and then.
