With my incredibly limited understanding of what they talked about, it's that by combining AP and AT, you give individual users more control over their social media, where they're hosted, and which networks they can connect to. You'd even be able to migrate and not even change handles. In theory this also means cutting the middle man out of Fedi and Bsky interacting.

What makes this approach superior to the bridgy approach? I don't know enough about either to really compare.
