You'll never be as cool as Iranian breakdancers in 70s breakdancing for their moms and aunties.

The stabilization tracking on this ancient VHS camcorder footage is amazing

Clearly dated from 1991, not the seventies.

Welp, that's the Persian 70s (Persian/Jalali calendar)

Oh fascinating.

It literally says 1991 in the video.

I almost made this comment too, but you could also interpret the phrase to mean they are doing 70s style breakdancing

This is poppin and lockin

okwhateverdude@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 34d (2 replies)

The dancing? I am 100% dance ignorant. What are the differences?

TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 34d

Poppin and lockin originated on the west coast, and actually came from highschool track culture. Breakdancing came from East Coast, very different scene.

The incorrect date notwithstanding,

That base, Persian rap, the dance, absolutely LIT!

The music is UK I think. but Persian underground hiphop is lowkey great. Specially the more artistic/poetic ones.
