If you're in Victoria, come along the the election launch of the Victorian Socialists.
The Victorian Socialists project is to get members elected to parliament to act as a megaphone for the on the ground movement.
VS stands a decent chance of getting a member elected to one of the inner north or western electorates, I've heard.
If you've been on the fence, now is the time to get involved. The world is sliding further into right-wing policies and none of the incumbent parties identify capitalism as the problem.

Ideally we run in as many as possible to get our name out there.
Between us and Socialist Alliance I suspect the majority of seats will have a socialist candidate, though many of those don't really stand a chance, since the party is still pretty small (while growing quite quickly, up to 6000 nationally now).
I kinda wish we would merge with Socialist Alliance though, they seem to be ideologically pretty much the same, just the membership skews older.
I don't care what name we run under, it just makes sense to combine efforts, in my opinion.
