Where to buy?

I'm just getting into crypto as a whole and Monero specifically for privacy reasons and general interest. I downloaded Cake Wallet after seeing the interview the founder recently did with TechLore on YT/Peertube, and create a Monero wallet. My question now is; where's the best place to buy Monero? When I go to buy in the Cake Wallet app, it shows Kraken as the only option and from what I understand that's not necessarily a bad option. However, I would prefer something more open and non-KYC. If there is no easy/simple solution that's decentralized/non-proprietery/non-KYC, I'm find using Kraken as the point of Monero is that after I buy, the Monero itself is untraceable, but if there is a good alternative I figured I might as well do some research and start off with it if possible.
