Parfait à la fraise is very good. I found out after making it that it wasn't the original variant, but it's nice and balanced

The original variant is, according to Wikipedia, supposed to be similar to ice cream. But this one uses a cream made of mascarpone, yoghurt, sugar, heavy cream and vanilla. It makes it easier, but I still want to try making the original which is "made by boiling cream, egg, sugar and syrup to create a custard-like or meringue-like puree which is then frozen". Sounds harder, but maybe better

Of course it's very good; it's literally perfect!

Huh. I always made vanilla custard/pudding, added angelfood cake/shortbread, whipped cream and simmered fresh strawberries in syrup.

Thanks for the new recipe!

Sounds a wee bit similar to charlotte aux fraises, which I also want to try one day. It's very decorative! pic
