Except French npp generally lower / turn off their output because the temperature upstream of the plant exceed the maximum permitted for fauna and flora preservation. It's not like they are in danger of melting or anything. Not mentioning not all npp are river cooled.

Looking at the data I imagine there might be some margin of error on it - Sweden is sitting at 99% carbon free electricity and France is at 98%. 40% of the carbon emissions at the time I'm looking is attributed to a bucket known as "unknown" where some assumptions are made about what that unknown-bucket contains. France also has an unknown-bucket, but reports an unknown fraction of electricity coming from it.
Both are basically rounding errors in terms of emissions though, with both countries doing quite well, at least at time of speaking.
Yes both countries are leaders ! I was not saying Sweden is emmiting too much. I'm not sure there is much to be gained anyway.
Also, note that not all low carbons are equals. Nuclear is estimated at 5g co2eq/MWh, wind 13, solar 30. Because it takes energy to build, operate, dismantle those means of production. Those numbers take into account everything from mining, concrete, uranium refinement, npp dismantlement ...

Leibstadt was once, early 2000s, because a flood clogged the cooling channels with rubble. All regional firefighters had to come cool it, there was steam. Was then moved under the rug; i know it from a firefighter friend. You can find the one or other short report over it if you google for a while.
Not like that was the only near-catastrophe (or waiting to happen) not much known to the public though.

On electricity map, today, 8am utc+2 France was 17gco2eq/kWh Sweden was at 24.
It varies with time ofc but no, Sweden is not always lower.
