In its second season of existence, Salmon Bay FC defeated Vermont Green FC 1-1 (5-4) in penalty kicks to win the USL W League championship in front of a sold-out home crowd.

The team popped a bottle of champagne and poured it into the trophy, which a few players drank from, except the game-winning goal scorer, who was not old enough to legally drink.
