These games were so damn social. You had full parties on Xbox, etc. On Rust you could run into 15 different people, and everyone would be using their mic, you could create a zerg or even just team up with so many randoms. Nowadays there's nothing.
I mean they were toxic, sure. I don't mind toxicity though. I mean some of the most toxic people (who were toxic to me too) became some of my greatest friends I play/played with.
Do you guys know any current multiplayer games with social dynamics being similar to what we used to have?

Sadly I think Rust got eaten alive by hackers, and any other game of that vein (Ark, 7 Days) had the same fate, your best bet would be something you could host privately
