No one wants their life wasted because of the state.

That's true. But the state doesn't have much of a choice either. Any state that refuses to defend itself under active invasion will not last long. As usual, the root culprit is Russia for creating the situation in the first place.

Edit: Your statement is extremely ironic considering you've previously stated you would commit suicide if the US ever invaded your country, rather than live through it or raise a finger.
