I'd like to help, but you won't let me.

Yep, was gonna play Marathon until they just never bothered with Linux. Made a dual boot to try the free weekend and it was actually kind of interesting but not enough so that I want to restart my whole PC to play every time.

Apparently the anti-cheat they're using has even developed a Linux version in the time since Destiny 2 came out but they still opted to be Windows only.

Reap what you sow, Bungie.

You want to pay 40€ for a dead multiplayer game?

I have a rule: if the game costs money and its multiplayer only, I won't pay. Mainly because my schedule of playing games I bought is kinda fucked up ( as in I buy a game and 3 years later I actually go and finish it) but also because if its not 100% established as a brand name, its casual player base will fall off in a few years.

It's was only ever going to be a generic extraction shooter and we have too many of those now.

Idk if it’s generic but I never understood who this game was for. Why choose Marathon? Every gamer I know of that ever played it has only been disappointed that it's not even close to the og trilogy.

That was the only thing I was excited for. When I heard it was live service o ly I just assumed that they didn't want my money, elsewhere why would they make it?

They know how to attract players. If they choose not to, that’s on them
