I've been around 500 kV when I worked on industrial solar farms.
I only worked on the "low voltage" inverters, which took 1000V DC and converted to 1500V AC. Then it went into the medium voltage 34 kV transformer attached to it, I only worked on that a few times when traveling. From there it went to the grid distribution which was 500 kV
