Home grown plums on pizza?

My family think I'm a monster, but it was really nice. I chucked a load of parmesan on too, which really counterbalanced the sweetness of the plums nicely.

People get shitty about fruit on a pizza, what the fuck are tomatoes then?

Do what you want.

In culinary terms, a vegetable. Try to apply botanical terms to food and nothing makes sense. There's no such thing as a vegetable, botanically.

I totally agree that you should cook what you like, and this looks tasty. I just hate the "avacados are berries, peas are fruits" type of rhetoric -- it doesn't survive any scrutiny.

Eat whatever you like as long it doesn't harm yourself or break any laws.

These days I put fruit in everything. Especially when it's homegrown or a gift that has sat too long on the counter. Into the stew with you, slightly dodgy peach. Meat and fruit is a great combination. Fruit and cheese is excellent. There's no food police going to arrest me!

I can see it. Sweet + savory often works. I don't really care for most iterations of pineapple on pizza I've had, but I don't much care for pineapple (grilled pineapple being probably my favorite application, but still not something I ever go out of my way to order).

I'd rather try pineapple pizza. Also plums have that weird taste that some people might not enjoy. But if you like that, I'll be judging you in silence.

I've reported you to the ICC for food crimes against humanity.

Beautiful. I'm doing a peach burrata pizza for dinner later.

Seems crazy, but pineapple on pizza already exists. And I assume our Polish colleagues are close to doing strawberry pizza, so what gives.

We already did:

But so did the Americans:

I wouldn't try plums or strawberries on pizza. But that's mostly because I hate fruit. Although I like pineapple on pizza and I've had good pizza with pear.

AARGHH! I should have drizzled some balsamic vinegar on as well. Next time...

TranscendentalEmpire@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 14d

I have a plumtree and have done plum on a pizza, balsamic reduction and a little bit of soft goat cheese makes it really pop.

yeah, I lived in Rome for a while and they have pear and puntarelle on white pizza and it's fantastic

leagman1@feddit.org · 1 pts · 14d

Oof.. Well actually. The strawberry pizza looks very pleasing, prolly tastes interesting.

Sounds better than pineapple on pizza! I'd gladly try it!
