Wouldn’t this be an issue for aircraft?

Aircraft fly way higher than the city, so air pollution isn't really an issue for them.

Feel like it may not be if it's pointed straight up at all times. but if the plane is doing an aileron roll it would not take minimal damage, so star fox would be effected.

Makes me wonder then... is it on a gimbal to keep it pointed straight up at all times, or rigid mount so it shifts direction with terrain. It would almost have to be the former I'd assume...
