‘I was a functioning alcoholic’: Cliff Bleszinski opens up about addiction, recovery, and his hope to return to games

It’s not easy breaking a cycle. Four months is a big deal.

Hopefully his next game is something really cool.

I'm really glad he got sober, and feel bad that he got sucked into the world of alcohol through work.

Tangentially related, I know someone who worked on Boss Keys actual last game, Radical Heights. I don't blame Cliff at all, but it was essentially a cash grab on the battle royale genre based on PUBG and Fortnite's success. It launched in early access in 2018-ish and was only available for like 6 months before the studio shuttered.

Hopefully Cliff is able to get back in the saddle and put out some amazing new properties.

Lawbreakers was very fun and I miss it. Here's to his newfound sobriety and hopefully a new cliffy B game announced in the next decade.
