does anyone consider it a permanent solution? especially as batteries are getting so cheap these days
The US and Europe reduced their CO₂ emissions in the first decades of the 21st century by moving from coal to gas. People who don't care or even believe in global warming don't care. It was very much sold as a bridge solution to people that do care.
Yeah, also ask them what they do with the ethane that inevitably gets pumped out with the methane...it ends up in HDPE and LDPE...in the ocean and in landfills...
But it doesnt burn as cleanly as methane...but the best way to dispose of unrecyclable plastic is icineration, yes. Methane's cleanness should take its other dirtier companions into account too.
