Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze are surfing back to the big screen in celebration of “Point Break‘s” 35th anniversary.
A new 4k restoration will be released by Resurgence Media Group, Saga Arts and Fathom Entertainment. The film will hit theaters on Aug. 16 and 19.

As in point break in particular? You'd be surprised. It's got a fairly good cult status, and cult movie fans love theater showings. Go check out a rocky horror screening for the extreme end of why it's a great thing to do screenings.
Point break has enough of a following that I suspect it can both draw butts into seats and keep the theaters in good profit for those shows. I don't know if it could match something like fight club or Lebowski in terms of numbers willing to go to a theater for this kind of thing, and I seriously doubt it'll get close to Rocky horror numbers at all. But it could be fun
