Well he wasn't wrong. News anchors had earpieces so they could hear what the producer was saying. I assume they still do?

It would look like a spy gadget, kind of work like one, but it wasn't ever a secret.

EDIT: also, I believe "snuck" is correct, not "sneaked". Am I the crazy one here?

They're both considered correct, but snuck is newer and grammar nerds don't like that for some reason.

But if you look it up in dictionaries, you will notice that it’s marked as a colloquialism, a non-standard or informal word, more often than not.

I know the 80s was a hard time for South Korea, but if the anchor was 24, that's a whole other level.

I can't see the video either unless I open it in my web browser. My reader app only shows me a screenshot too
