Codeberg is German, is based on Forgejo, doesn't sell your data, and is a nonprofit. And it can be self-hosted on top of all that.

This sounds like a for-profit clone of Codeberg with zero explanation about how it actually protects anyone's privacy.

Codeberg lacks private repositories IIRC. They are tolerated but not for official business. The only fork which has private repos is CodeFloe.

I like the idea, since Codeberg is dedicated to open-source repositories.

So for hosted private repositories and organizations you don't have many known options, I recall Codefloe and Sourcehut. A new option is welcome.

But c'mon, you have hundreds of possible top level domains and you pick for a EU-sovereign service a top level domain literally owned by Google?

A bit expensive but a good idea. It's made by a single person though which could be worrying (https://stennmedia.nl/).

Boooooo! Why is there an SSO tax?

one_old_coder@piefed.social · 1 pts · 19d (1 reply)

What do you mean?

Needing to pay for a plan to get SSO. This is called SSO tax. There is even a website which gives an overview ☝🏻
