Hook came out in 1991, and this comic came out in 1994. I wanted to say that Larson inspired the film, but it was the other way around.

Fun fact, the actor who played Rufio also voiced Prince Zuko in the Avatar the Last Air Bender cartoon series.

The actor playing Rufio also starred in a short film about Rufio's origin called Bangarang

Exactly what I wanted to find out. Thank you...

Disney released peter pan in 1953. The novel came out in 1904. When I think of peter pan I never think of that thing that was made in the 90's.

The idea of Peter returning to the real world and living a normal life and forgetting about his powers is the crux of the 1991 movie, and the punchline of this comic.

actually the comic he has the memories and is married to wendy. was he married to wendy in the hook movie or just married to someone?

Leviathan@fedinsfw.app · 3 pts · 55d (1 reply)

He married Wendy's granddaughter, I think.

You may find yourself

Living in a shotgun shack

And you may find yourself

In another part of the world

And you may find yourself

Behind the wheel of a large automobile

And you may find yourself in a beautiful house

With a beautiful wife

And you may ask yourself

"Well... how did I get here?"

This song has good lyrics, but dammit is it one of the worst songs I've ever heard.

panda_abyss@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 55d (1 reply)

Sacrilege!

Leviathan@fedinsfw.app · 4 pts · 55d

I'm sorry, Panda. I've been trying to like it for a long time but it's just not for me.

psud@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 53d

What about the Trump version of it?

ZombieCyborgFromOuterSpace@piefed.ca · 10 pts · 56d

That's the most depressing thing I've ever seen here.

MrGeneric@lemmy.today · 8 pts · 56d (2 replies)

I would watch this Matrix film

buddascrayon@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 56d (1 reply)

I mean, the movie "Hook" exists. You can literally go and watch it any time you like.

MrGeneric@lemmy.today · 4 pts · 56d

Hook is a great movie, just wish it had more Kung Fu

Itdidnttrickledown@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 56d

We have all been there.

Wiz@midwest.social · 4 pts · 56d

It took me forever to find Peter in this cartoon!

bitjunkie@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 56d

So Larson just had the idea for Hook like 30 years later?
