[AIP] I am selfhosting Active Matrix Rooms which is helping users find activity in the matrix network

https://activematrixrooms.com/

Source code is here https://gitlab.com/masland.tech/matrix-activity-tracker

If you have any questions please feel free to ask. This is a project I have been working on for about 5 months over time. With suggestions from a few matrix community members it has reached this point.

I used AI as a tool to write the syntax, I was the one who managed the design and came up with the solution myself. Human suggested solution, AI did the task. Implementation - production code Testing - writing tests, test plans, and QA. Documentation - Docs, comments, README, change logs Review - Code review and pull request feedback Deployment - CI/CD configuration. The gitlab link shows everythinge lse

Since this is a selfhosting sub can you actually explain how you're hosting it?

Please update your post with the appropriate tag [CBH] or [AIT], and if applicable, the AI disclosure. See rules 7&8.

Freenet matrix blowing up after the recent futo video or is it always that active

irmadlad@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 19d

Freenet

Now there's a name I haven't heard in a minute.

@Fizz @jaykrown why what did they say in that video?

Fizz@lemmy.nz · 3 pts · 20d (2 replies)

Nothing new just a 50min talk about the project and how to use it. I tried it, it was easy to setup and was fast compared to other altnets. There wasnt much on it, a chat app, a few sites, mail, git the usual. Technically interesting and I will follow it but i dont see myself learning how to develop apps for it.

afaik I2P was forked from Freenet. I wonder what makes that big of a difference in performance.

Fizz@lemmy.nz · 2 pts · 19d

Forked off the old freenet. The new freenet is much faster I was sending and receiving chat messages with under a second of latency and there were a hundred people in chat.

I did so earlier this month and my channels are still listed on your site, showing 0 activity.

jaykrown@lemmy.world · -1 pts · 18d

Yes good, then it will no longer be able to track the message count in your room.

jaykrown@lemmy.world · -2 pts · 18d (1 reply)

You should probably make them private so no one can find them at all. If you make a room public, anyone can find it using something like this, not just myself, public decentralized protocol.

kate@lemmy.uhhoh.com · 1 pts · 18d

I'd like you to de-list my channels. What's the process for having the channels on my server removed from your index? Because right now all you've made is matrixrooms.info with less consent.
