Does the Seattle PD Chief of Police live in Chicago while the Deputy Chief lives in Wisconsin while Chief of Investigators lives in New Orleans and the Chief of Staff lives in North Carolina ?
No idea but I can say you can't work for the city of chicago without living in a residence there. I know folks who do and bitch about it and it like eff you. Its a smart policy to keep these high paying jobs in the city.

And that's why there's so neighborhoods on the edge of the city with a high percentage of cops as residents.

Seattle police chief’s family lives in Illinois, yes. Are you asking or did you mean to link an article or something?
Police should live in the community they work in and it’s been a problem in Seattle for a long time.
