Kaylin is a treasure and deserves so many nice things.

I feel pretty sorry for Kaylin being thrown into doing the job of three people

Yes. It was funny, and it felt like a clever acknowledgement of how hard their crew work.
But I really hope DropOut has some kind of process for getting prior consent before surprising someone with a major role on camera.
Considering other evidence, I would guess they do? Hiring an intimacy consultant for an on-screen gag, and Brennan asking for consent to interact before a wrestling gag on VIP makes me assume they do get some level of consent from each production cast members first.
Older evidence against would include the rough ending of Total Forgiveness - arguably a failure in their consent processes. But it's a good sign that the newest evidence is in the right direction.
(Edit: I hope they address it in the behind the scenes next week.)

She's been on screen in previous episodes and was planning to be in this one, maybe just not in such a major way. I know they have a timeout thing where anyone can call a timeout for any reason if they're uncomfortable etc. I think/hope her nervous persona was played up for the bit

I noticed that too. That was a clever way to make sure she felt screen-ready and to catch her reaction on film.
Nice!
Yes. I think she definitely played it up for the bit. DropOut is lucky to have behind the scenes talent who are able to step up as performers!

I don't think she made any long distance calls with their phones.

Sam responded to this in the past so I can't help but think it informed the animations this episode. I wonder if that'll come up in the BTS for this episode

LISA HANAWALT? I screamed out loud when she was announced, I love her and I hadn't seen her since I deleted instagram, so happy to see her in dropout

I liked this one as an interesting take on Make Some Noise and everyone seemed vested in actually competing. However, I guess I've gotten used to the show ramping up it's weirdness factor to where the show felt like it belonged in an earlier season.
