Four Dollars for Fossil Fuels. One for Renewables.

If governments continue directing billions towards fossil fuels while claiming to be serious about achieving net zero, investors receive mixed signals and the transition becomes slower, more expensive and more politically difficult. Imagine what even a fraction of those fossil fuel subsidies could achieve if redirected towards:

household electrification;

community batteries;

transmission infrastructure;

electric vehicle charging;

clean manufacturing;

biodiversity restoration; and

support for regional communities managing the energy transition.

Living as I do in a region that is LNP & PHON heartland you hear all manner of arguments against renewable energy projects. For all their 'patriotism', these parties seem to not really care about what we are facing as a nation or as a continent.

If you too come across people of that mind set, this little blog piece can give you some great talking points.
