This is my type of humor.

Picard facepalms. Professor X feels a headache coming on.

If it's omniscient hindsight it could be extremely useful.

"Yesterday when we were attacked we could have blah blah blah."

"But physics doesn't work that way!"

"Seems like it actually does. My hindsight is never wrong."

"Oh, wow. We should figure that out."

I accidentally read this as Professor X saying he had the power of hindsight and it made sense.
