The political compass needs a third axis for nihilism/hope (or maybe pessimism/optimism?)

I perceive conservatism as pessimistic ("we will sacrifice the next generation to keep what we have") while progressivism is hopeful ("we want to make a better future for the next generation"). A reductive generalization, admittedly.
